Smoky Dawson Bronze Statue
Head down Peel Street where, outside the Tamworth Regional Council building, you can take a minute with Smoky Dawson – a memorial statue by gifted sculptor Tania Bartlett. The statue, unveiled by Dick Smith in 2012, recognises the outstanding contribution of the late Smoky Dawson to Australian country music.
Slim Dusty and Joy McKean Bronze Statue
Keep on walking down Peel Street and you’ll bump into the Slim Dusty and Joy McKean statue, unveiled at the 2014 Tamworth Country Music Festival. The life size bronze of Slim and Joy dressed in 1950s style is a permanent tribute to these two iconic figures.
