The Albert Hotel has launched its new kitchen with the debut of its “Hawker-style” Asian menu. Modelled on the Hawker dining districts of Asia, the revamped kitchen serves up Asian street food with a contemporary twist.

“We wanted to create a fresh, fun and flavoursome menu that pays homage to the classic Asian restaurant found in towns like Tamworth” says Chris Cornforth and Fraser Haughton, directors of Harvest Entertainment who took over the venue late last month.

Launching today, the menu offers a-la-carte options for the traditional diner and share plates perfect for groups. The exciting menu delivers a fusion of tastes, with flavours from across Asia embraced and delivered by Head Chef Edwin Cabuhat. Cabuhat’s menu showcases an exciting combination of textures, flavours and flair that he has picked up over his time in Asia.

Guests will be able to enjoy starters, ranging from Pork Belly San Choi Bao ($15), Gua Bao ($17), Asian Chicken Popcorn ($16) to Duck Pancakes ($18). Efu Style ($18) and Drunken Thai ($21) street noodles can be enjoyed alongside a variety of dumplings and pot stickers. Stir Fry Style dishes include Seafood Shadow ($21) and Honey Beef & Sriracha ($21). Meat lovers can indulge on larger sharing dishes, which include Chinese Peking Duck ($32) and Slow Braised Chuck Spare Rib ($24).

The menu caters for vegetarians with an array of dishes, including Pan Fried Vegetarian Pot Stickers ($12), Bang Bang Broccoli ($8) and a delicious Pumpkin, Kale and Tofu Stir Fry ($17).

General Manager Andy Sloane has created an original and approachable beverage offering, where the beer, wine and cocktail lists perfectly match the Asian cuisine on offer. “The beverage lists compliment the food perfectly and will show off the diverse flavours found in our dishes” says Sloane.

Kicking off April 22nd, The Albert Hotel will be launching its Sunday Yum Cha from 11am. Guests can expect a modern take on the traditional Yum Cha experience. “Yum Cha is a great way to get family and friends together over brunch or lunch. We have put together a traditional menu with all your favourites and thrown in a few modern dim sum dishes to keep it interesting.” added Haughton.

The Albert Hotel can be found at 211 Peel St, Tamworth. Bookings are available Monday-Sunday for lunch and dinner.
