Monday 16 March, 2020
In accordance with the Public Health Order issued by Brad Hazzard MP, Minister for Health and Medical Research yesterday regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Tamworth Regional Council and the Nundle Go for Gold Chinese Easter Festival Committee have made the decision this morning to cancel the 2020 event scheduled for Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April.
Event organisers are working with stallholders to arrange the refund of applicable fees.
Council acknowledges the impact on small business will be great, however the safety of communities across the Tamworth region including our volunteers, customers and employees is our top priority.
Council takes advice on all public health matters from the state and federal health departments and we recommend members of our community look to the NSW Health site - www.health.nsw.gov.au
- as the primary source of information and health updates.
Council and the Committee thank supporters of this event for their understanding, and we look forward to the festival’s return at Easter, 2021.
