Barraba Show has been a staple event on the region’s calendar since the very early 1900’s. The annual event provides the opportunity for people to gather from near and far to compete, exhibit, showcase and enjoy all the great things the Barraba community has to offer.

The Barraba Show is a three-day affair that will kick off on Friday 8 March offering a wide array of events, competitions, stalls and entertainment over the weekend.

This year, the Barraba PA&H Association is thrilled to be hosting one of the most influential gardening experts, ABC’s Gardening Australia front man, Jerry Coleby-Williams.

Qualified in curation, horticultural estate management, soft landscape design, horticultural and botanical sciences, Jerry has a wealth of knowledge. He will be presenting two insightful and engaging talks, focused on garden resilience and garden sustainability.

Courtesy of Northern Slopes Landcare, Jerry’s presentations will take place on Saturday, 9 March at 9:30am and 11am.

President of the Barraba Show Society, Tim Crowley said, “We’re really excited about what the 2019 Barraba Show has on offer for our competitors, exhibitors and visitors. We’re especially excited to be hosting Jerry Coleby-Williams. To hear the advice he has to offer about building resilient gardens and sustainability will be great, particularly given current conditions. I can’t wait to learn a thing or two!”

But it doesn’t stop there, with plenty more happening over the weekend for the whole family to enjoy.

The guest entertainer this year is Griego the Great, Street Performer and Magician who will present his Conjuring Show on both days.  There will also be a sideshow alley, an animal farm, entertainment from Rodney the Clown plus show staples including  camp drafting, rodeo, cattle, wool, fat lamb and poultry judging, two days of horse events and show jumping, yard dog trials, tent pegging, wood chopping, pavilion exhibits and live music on Saturday night.

“The Barraba Show is a great day out for the whole family; after 107 previous Shows, I think we have it right. If you haven’t been before we encourage you to come along and check it out. And to the regulars, we look forward to seeing you again,” Mr Crowley told us.
