Tamworth Regional Dairy Group

A growing economy

Established in late 2014, the Tamworth Regional Dairy Group (TRDG) is a not for profit group of local Tamworth stakeholders and business people that are actively seeking to establish a dairy production plant in Tamworth, New South Wales.

The TRDG is currently securing funding to pursue the feasibility of the project, as outlined in more detail in the scoping document.

This group is willing to discuss the concept with any interested partner, group or prospective investor.

The Benefits

The economic benefit to the local and regional communities would be significant.

  • It is estimated that between 30 – 50 direct jobs would be created by a large scale production plant with many more direct and indirect jobs such as drivers and contractors being created.
  • The growth and establishment of dairy farms will also create jobs within the wider geographical region which extends greater than Tamworth.
  • It is estimated that a large scale dairy production plant in Tamworth would require up to 20,000 cows to service it from the broader geographical region.  As such this project will work hand in hand with industry to grow the local dairy industry to benefit all stakeholders.
