The Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and Visitor Information Outlets (VIO) are all managed by Destination Tamworth, the division of Tamworth Regional Council which delivers tourism, marketing, events and economic development services across the local area.
The VIC and VIO’s primary function is to provide visitor information and has local, regional and state-wide information available. Our VIC and VIOs are staffed by friendly and knowledgeable volunteer ambassadors.

Each year, we receive some 1.1 million visitors a year to the Tamworth region and our Visitor Information Centre and Outlet volunteers are the friendly faces that those visitors are greeted with when they arrive into the region. Our volunteers play a crucial role as ambassadors and in providing high quality information.
Volunteering is a great way to be part of your community and share your expert local knowledge. We welcome new volunteers to join the Destination Tamworth team at our Visitor Information Centre at Tamworth and Outlets at Manilla and Nundle.
