Main street shopping
With its tree-lined footpaths and wide streets Tamworth’s CBD offers a quintessentially country shopping experience with all the style and elegance of the city.
Peel Street is the heart of the CBD, which has specialty shops, department stores, banks, supermarkets, and stylish gift and homeware shops. In recent years Tamworth’s retail sector has seen significant growth – now Tamworth offers many of the major stores found in metropolitan areas as well as those unique to country towns.
After meandering through the shops, Peel Street and its surrounds offer a cosmopolitan selection of cafes and restaurants. Cafes line the street with umbrellas, tables and chairs - all set beneath the shade of the London Plane Trees, in a smoke-free environment.
Tamworth's shopping centres
Tamworth also has a number of shopping centres. Centrepoint Tamworth has a food court, multi-screen cinema, supermarket and specialtystores. Tamworth Shoppingworld and Tamworth Square both offer major department stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, food courts and specialty stores, with free parking. Tamworth's newest shopping centre, Eastpoint features a supermarket and liquor store, located at the Southern end of Peel Street also has free parking.
