Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up for the 2020 Manilla Show. Kicking off on Friday 13 March and running through to Sunday 15 March, this family-friendly extravaganza is set to be a weekend not to miss.

For 86 years the Manilla Show has been a spotlight event on the districts’ calendar and a great opportunity for people to witness all the community has to offer.

President of the Manilla Show Society, Councillor Jim Maxwell is encouraging people from near and far to come along, get involved and enjoy the show.

“There’s so much to see and do at the Manilla Show. It’s a great way for our community to show off all our talents and not to mention, the perfect excuse for a weekend out with the family or to catch up with your mates.”

The theme of the 2020 Manilla Show is “Tractors” so start thinking of items you can create for the pavilion.

The opening evening is the perfect way to kick start the weekend; featuring fireworks and live music.

But it won’t stop there as the showground will launch into full swing over the weekend.

Competitors will line the area for show jumping and show horse events, crowds will flock to watch the Dog High Jump and yard dog trials, pet-lovers will parade their furry friends for the Pet Spectacular, visitors will wander through the pavilions lined with creative exhibitions and the kids will enjoy the adrenalin of Side Show Alley plus the face painting, Troppo Bob will be back with his magic show  and balloon artistry to be  found in the free Kids Zone.

Cowboys and cowgirls, spectators and rodeo ringmasters will also hoe-down for Saturday night’s pinnacle event, the Gill Bros. Twilight Rodeo. Known as the toughest sport on dirt, the rodeo will feature poddy calf rides, junior steer rides, novice bull rides, saddle bronc rides and more. The 2020 rodeo will also feature some novelty events which will prove to entertain the crowd.

Manilla is only an easy 30 minute drive from Tamworth.  The Manilla Show makes for a great day-trip or weekend away, so we hope to see you there,
