The next field trip of Tamworth Birdwatchers is on Saturday 27thApril is to Plumthorpe Travelling Stock Reserve west of Barraba. We expect to see a range of woodland, grassland and water birds and hope to add to our bird list for this location.
On our last visit to Plumthorpe we saw a wide range of bird species including a pair of Tawny Frogmouths. Some of the species we hope to see on this outing, include the following vulnerable species; Black Falcon, Little Lorikeet, Brown Treecreeper, Speckled Warbler, Grey-crowned Babbler, Dusky Woodswallow, Hooded Robin and Diamond Firetail.
Tamworth Birdwatchers welcomes new members. If you are interested, the field trip will be leaving at 8:00am, from the car park behind the Community Centre, in Darling Street. Be there early so we can organize car-pooling. Bring binoculars if you have them and come prepared with your morning tea, lunch and plenty of water.
