On Saturday 30th March 2019, join the Tamworth Birdwatchers on their field trip to Lake Keepit where they'll be birding both around the lake itself and to an area below the dam wall.
While the dam is close to empty, the group expect that the limited amount of water will cause a concentration of water bird into a smaller area and they have expectations of seeing number of different water birds species. They also anticipate seeing a good number of bushland birds as they are increasingly attracted to areas where surface water is still present.
Tamworth Birdwatchers welcomes new members and you can accompany them on their field trip for free. The field trip will be leaving at 8:00am, from the car park behind the Community Information Centre, in Darling Street. Be there early to organise car-pooling. Bring binoculars if you have them and come prepared with your morning tea, lunch and plenty of water.
